A. It is common for young children, especially around the age of 3 to 4 years, to experience foot pain after active play, as their muscles and bones are still developing. The pain could be due to overexertion from running, jumping, or playing, which can strain the muscles, tendons, or ligaments in the feet. This is often referred to as "growing pains," which can occur during periods of rapid growth. However, if your daughter’s foot pain is persistent, severe, or accompanied by swelling, redness, or difficulty walking, it could be a sign of an injury or another underlying condition that needs medical attention. To help ease the pain, you can encourage her to take breaks from heavy physical activity and ensure she is wearing comfortable, supportive shoes. You can also try gently massaging her feet or using a warm compress to alleviate discomfort. If the pain persists or worsens, it is best to consult a pediatrician to rule out any other potential causes, such as flat feet, joint problems, or issues with her muscles or bones.
