Q.

hello dr..my son is 4.6 ys ..he started speaking around age of 3 and 3.6 ....there is progress in his speaking but he cannot narrate a story or a rhyme ....when he is in school he is very quite fellow...he knows to hold a pencil and scribble but has no interest in writing ..pls suggest for his improvement

A. Siri please do not take it otherwise but just come to think of it practically you are mentioning at one place that your child is a late speaker and your child just started speaking like one year back approximately about 3 1/2 years so where do you expect your child to learn to narrate a story within one year speech is a slow process that happens over the period and right now if your child is unable to do it there is nothing wrong with it so please don’t pressurise your child but yes there is always a scope for improvement so try to talk to your child more and more try to do these things on a regular basis so that slowly or child is going to pick up you cannot expect your child to do these things in school because your child picked up really late on the speech
