hello Dr. my son is 2 yrs and 3 months old. from the last few days his potty is hard and I have observed blood stains on the potty. what can I do to make him do his potty slightly thin so that it doesn't trouble my lil one.

A. Hello mommy, Anal fissures, which are tiny tears in the anus usually caused by hard stools, are the most common cause of blood in toddler stool. This can occur in a toddler who has constipation. Certain foods, drinks, and prescription medications can change the color of stool, causing it to look like blood. To soften the stools and make them easier to pass, increase the amount of non-dairy fluid and fiber your child gets each day. High-fiber foods include fruits and fruit juices that contain sorbitol (prune, mango, pear), vegetables (broccoli, peas), beans, and whole-grain breads and cereals
