Hello Dr, My baby is one year old. Due to sudden temperature change and hot weather she is having cold, running nose with watery eyes. Please suggest a medicine for cold. Thank you!!!!

A. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescriebed. if any fever is there paracetamol can be given tod reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .
