A. If you accidentally poked your baby's eye and noticed redness in the white area along with slight swelling, it's important to monitor the situation closely. In many cases, minor injuries to the eye can heal on their own without causing lasting damage. However, because babies cannot communicate their discomfort effectively, it’s crucial to be cautious. Watch for any signs of increased redness, discharge, excessive tearing, sensitivity to light, or changes in vision. If any of these symptoms occur or if the redness and swelling do not improve within a day or two, it's advisable to visit an eye specialist for a thorough examination to ensure there are no serious injuries or complications. Prioritizing your baby's eye health is essential, so seeking professional advice when in doubt is always a good approach.
