Q.
hello doctor, my son 2.5 year old got hfmd disease and I applied calamine lotion for rashes and gave paracetamol for fever. it's been 4 days since he got the virus, now he got cold and runny nose and gets nasal congestion during night. can I give ascoril flu syrup for cold. and also can I use nasal drops? your suggestion will be very helpful. Thanks in advance!

Hello mommy. nasal saline drops can be given again and again to the child because it is salt water which will help in decreasing the nasal blockage by clearing the mucus try to prevent temperature variations around the child which is the most common cause of cough and cold in small children.can give indirect steam inshalation . anti-cold medicines at this age have got side effects so can be given only after medical consultation. You can also rub Vicks Vaporub on baby clothes near chest area. Thanks and take care
