Q.

Hello doctor, My baby is having watery eyes and continuous yellowish discharge. sometimes his eyes got sticky. What is the reason behind watery eyes. please give suggestions.. Thank you Anika Sawant

A. Frequently eye discharge may be due to allergy, infection or trauma by nail of baby or blocked nasolacrimal duct.  If it is due to blocked nasolacrimal duct since birth we have to reopen that duct with massage  Massage from inner side of eyes to the tip of nose.  It will help  Nasolacrimal duct can also be blocked due to nasal congestion Visit ur nearest pediatrician once for detail examination of ur baby.

A. For the age that your child is in this is considered very normal but if the problem is increasing then you should get a check with your paediatrician for some allergy checkup but otherwise it is normal you should clean the eyes regular with warm water for the child
