Q.

hello doctor...my 5-1/2 year old son quite often complains of leg pain, sometimes knee, sometimes feet, sometimes calves and also arm pain. doctor says it's growing pain and nothing much can be done and he will outgrow this but this interferes his sleep and he gets annoyed with this. what shyi do.

A. there are multiple causes of limb pain during this age because it can be normal due to growth pain. it can also occur due to nutritional deficiency mainly vitamin b12 iron and calcium deficiency. if there is excessive pdlayful activity by the child during the daytime it is but obvious that during the night time there might be limb pain. if the limbs are paining without any activity then yes medical examination and treatment will be required
