Q.

Hello Doc, expecting answer only from a Doctor. Is Flu Vaccine necessary to take during pregnancy. It was not recommended to me during my first pregnancy but the other doctor has recommended it and hospital is charging INR 2300 for a single shot of the flu. Please suggest if this is necessary or can be avoided also.

A. Only tetanus is mandatory to be done during the time of pregnancy and that to consecutive months flu is not at all mandatory I don’t know why your doctors advising you but if you do not want to get it done don’t get it done you can always say that you don’t want to get done as it is not a mandatory vaccination place it has got no connection with you being pregnant
