Q.

Hello all, My daughter is 19 months old. she had flu vaccine(inactivated influenza vaccine) at her 6 months of age dt: 15-12-2019(1st dose) then 2nd dose after 1 month at her 7 months dt : 15-01-2020. Now her dr. has told me the next dose will be on 16 -01-2021. Can anyone pls suggest is this vaccine so important to have every year . Dr. has told me flu vaccine should be given every year up till 5 years of age . is this vaccine authorized or not...? otherwise my baby is completely fine. pls suggest . #Vaccination

A. Hello, your baby girl is 19 months old and she has received two doses of influenza vaccinations and she is advised to take same in next year too so it’s not mandetory

A. the efficacy of flu vaccine is very short lived it will be working only for that season if you want protection you had to take one booster dose every year from flu virus
