There will be irregularities in your menstrual cycle for even up to one year after giving birth so you have to keep using contraception to avoid accidental pregnancy. AbhayaMom of a 15 yr 10 m old boy4 years agoA. Hi mom. There is irregularity of periods after delivery due to the hormonal changes. Breastfeeding mothers tend to get periods late and as late as one year. Once u stop breastfeeding the periods will become normal and regular. Take care
