Q.

Good afternoon doctor.. my baby’s birth weight was 3.8 kgs and now he’s approx 5.8 kgs.. he’s 2 months old and only breastfed. Is the weight gain good enough ? Sometimes he just feeds for few mins like 5-7 mins. He has 8-10 wet diapers also daily.

A. dear parent, a weight gain of 2 kg in 2 months is a healthy weight gain, do not worry. baby should gain at least 500 grams of weight per month and should double the birth weight by 6 months.
