Q.
Does foremilk have any nutritional value and what if I get more of foremilk and less of hindmilk and because of that is it possible my baby’s weight again get effected?

Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children6 years agoA. You cannot actually differentiate them much. The foremilk will be watery and hind milk will be thick. As the baby sucks the milk initially the watery milk comes out and slowly the high fat milk will come down. If the baby nurses emptying the breasts then you can be sure he would have taken the hind milk. Otherwise it's pretty hard to do some tactic and get the hind milk. If he is nursing only for few mins, May be u can try to express few amount of milk before u feed him. But it does not guarantee that he will get the hind milk. Don't worry about this very much. Just keep feeding him. As long as he is healthy and active you need not worry. He will be growing good.
