Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. whenever the child is crying excessively you have to take hold of the child in the arms.
you have to find the cause of excessive crying because it can be due to either hunger or it might be due to colic at this age.
after breastfeeding also if the the crying continues you can give anti colic medicines and massage and treatment on the line of colic pain.
you can walk briskly by holding the child on the shoulder and also sing a lullaby.
also see for any local discomfort or temperature variations (hot or cold).
for nasal blockage related crying give nasal saline drops.
observe for oral ulcers or fungal infection causing pain.
your child is having colic which is causing such behaviour.
colic is quite common in children before 6 months of age.
the usually start after 3 weeks of age.
you can give drops gastica or colicaid to the child 0.5 ml if the child is crying for more than 15 to 20 minutes due to colic pain.
limb cycling movements as well as tummy time will help.
to prevent colic pain xkindly do burping for 15 to 20 minutes after every feed and do not keep the child back on the bed after 1 burping because all the gas is not removed after one burping.
