A. It's generally advisable to consult your pediatrician before administering any vaccine if your child has a cough or any mild illness, even if it seems like a normal cold. Mild illnesses like a cough without fever may not be a contraindication for vaccination, but the decision depends on your child's overall health. Here are a few things to consider: 1. Mild Illness: If the cough is mild and your baby is otherwise healthy, vaccinations may be okay, but this should always be verified by your pediatrician. 2. Fever or Severe Illness: If the child has a fever or is showing signs of a more serious illness, it's typically recommended to delay vaccination until the child has fully recovered. 3. Doctor’s Advice: Since you mentioned that your baby is 3.5 months old, and vaccines are scheduled for 2.5 months, the doctor may adjust the vaccination schedule to accommodate any illness or ensure the baby is fit for the shot. Always err on the side of caution and get your pediatrician's advice to make the best decision for your child's health.
