A. Omega 3 fatty acids have a great role to play during pregnancy and for lactating mothers. Your baby should receive an adequate amount of Omega-3 DHA from your breast milk as it plays a crucial role in the baby’s brain development. Our body doesn’t synthesise DHA, so, we need it from an outside source. For lactating mothers, it is better to check your Omega-3 DHA levels in breast milk before taking any supplements by yourself. At-home self test kits are available to help you check the Omega 3 DHA levels in breast milk. If the levels are low, then you can make changes in your diet or take supplements.
