baby is getting cough and cold ..pls suggest

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination.b steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .

A. Cough and Cold have to be treated only after a proper examination by a doctor after the exact cause is diagnosed.it may be any infection or it may be allergic too.it is not so related to food items or climate but seasonal changes may aggravate the susceptibility to get infected.avoid refrigerated food items .maintain good immunity of the child with proper diet and supplements. it may be associated with fever too for which calpol can be given three times a day.. As the first line of treatment for relief you can give steam inhalation which would be of great help .to relieve blocked nose nasoclear drops can also be used multiple times. Cough Syrup or nebulization should be given only after a proper evaluation according to the type of cough .self medication may not be so helpful so please consult your doctor once. if the cough is productive you getcan give brozeet-ls or ambrodil syrup for now only n continue only after doctor's advice.avoid refrigerated items and give simple home-made preparations a required.child will gradually begin to eat as symptoms resolve.
