A. If your 2-month-old baby is farting and crying, especially in the morning, it could be due to gas and digestive discomfort. This is very common in newborns as their digestive system is still developing. 🔹 Possible Reasons for Gas & Discomfort 1️⃣ Swallowing Air While Feeding – Incorrect latch or bottle-feeding can cause air intake. 2️⃣ Immature Digestive System – The baby’s gut is still developing. 3️⃣ Overfeeding or Fast Milk Flow – Can lead to excessive gas. 4️⃣ Not Burping Properly – Trapped air can cause discomfort. 5️⃣ Lactose Sensitivity – Some babies have difficulty digesting milk. 🔸 What to Do? ✅ Burp After Every Feed Hold the baby upright for 10-15 minutes after feeding. Try different burping positions (on the shoulder, sitting up, or tummy down on your lap). ✅ Give Gentle Tummy Massage Massage in a circular motion around the navel using warm coconut oil. Do bicycle leg exercise to release trapped gas. ✅ Tummy Time Place your baby on their tummy for a few minutes several times a day. It helps gas pass naturally. ✅ Warm Compress Apply a warm towel on the baby’s tummy for relief. ✅ Check Feeding Position Ensure the baby’s head is slightly elevated while feeding to prevent air intake. If bottle-feeding, use an anti-colic bottle. ✅ Gripe Water or Hing Paste (Home Remedy) Mix hing (asafoetida) with warm water and apply a little around the baby’s belly button. Consult your pediatrician before using gripe water. 🚨 When to See a Doctor? ❌ If the baby is crying excessively and inconsolable. ❌ If the stomach is bloated and hard. ❌ If there is blood in stool or vomiting.
