Keep the baby hydrated by offering breast milk or formula frequently. Dress the baby in light clothes and keep the room at a comfortable temperature. You can use a cool, damp washcloth to wipe down the baby’s body to help bring the fever down. If the fever exceeds 100.4°F (38°C) or lasts for more than 24 hours, or if the baby is showing signs of distress, difficulty breathing, or a rash, consult your pediatrician immediately for further advice and treatment.
