it occurs due to obstruction of pathway (nasolacrimal duct) from eyes to the nose for which eyes massage is needed regularly and this problem goes away with increasing age of the child
meet your doctor for moree information and also go through various videos which will also tell you how to massage the eyes to decrease the obstruction.
if the obstruction is not taken care of the proper massagee it can lead to infection in the eyes and more watery eyes as well as red eyes and secretions from the eyes

If the white part of your baby's eye -- the sclera -- is clear and there is no redness, but there is discharge, it's most likely a blocked tear duct. About 1 in 5 babies are born with tear ducts that haven't fully developed. The blockage is usually in one eye but can be in both. It often clears up on its own.
