#asktheexperts when is the flu vaccine given? As per govt immunization chart, this is not an important vaccine, but I m confused about it? Should it be given to babies? from what all will it provide safety?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Influenza vaccine or the flu vaccine is basically a vaccine which protects against different strains of flu viruses including swine Flu virus which causes symptoms specially in children because of less immunity.
Though it is not a mandatory vaccine but it should be given to every child to protect against different flu infection which is very common every year . this vaccine is given after 6 months of age and initially two doses are givten one month apart then every year single dose is required .
It is notg documented but still studies suggest that to some extent it may give partial protection against covid infection .

Flu vaccination and influenza vaccination or completely optional vaccination so it is parents personal choice if they want to go ahead with this vaccination or I don’t want to get it done so it’s completely your choice if you want to go ahead and get it done then you get it done otherwise doing there is no compulsion for thisWrite Your Answer Here
