one should ensure that the child should get a proper balanced diet which contains all types of nutrients essential for growth.
any kind of infection specially any chronic i freenfection should be ruled out and treated which may hamper the growth otherwise.
after 2 years of age you can give some powder like kids Pro/ prohance junior mix in milk twice a day for one or two months.

To help baby gain food in 1 year, you can include fat and protein rich foods like potato, rice, pumpkin, sweet potato, eggs, chicken, fish, legumes, ghee, milkshakes with dry fruits, banana, avocado, paneer and 600-700 ml milk everyday. Feed 3 main meals and 2-3 times healthy snacks including variety of fluids like water, freshjuices, curd, buttermilk and coconut water. Keep him physically active.
