Q.

#asktheexperts pls suggest medicine for cold and fever. can I feed my baby ,he is on breastfeeding ..

A. yes u can feed Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever whiccgh needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .

A. Hello mom You should not give any medication for cold but if your baby is having fever and the temperature is above 99° then you can give Calpol drops to your baby and can repeat the medicine in every 7 to 8 hours gap. Try to keep your baby in normal room temperature and you can also use nasal clear drops to clean babies nose
