#asktheexperts My son runs his right ear sometimes, anything to worry? His ears are regularly cleaned though.

A. rubbing of ear as well as itching of the ears is totally normal. if the child is not crying do not worry about it and to decrease the itching sensation you can apply coconut oil over it. do not use earbuds to clean the internal ear cavity. external ear can be cleaned with the help of clean cotton cloth. treatment is given only if the child is crying with pain while itching. for pain you can give paracetamol

A. If your child is pulling at their ear or cheek, it could mean a couple of different things. It could be a sign of an ear infection, or it could mean teething. When teeth erupt they can cause pain that spreads across the cheeks and ears. If this happens, a trip to the doctor may be needed to rule out an ear infection.
