set a positive example for your child, by having all healthy foods. create a conducive environment for building healthy eating habits.
offer choice between two fruits any one of which you may want him to try.
yourself eat the fruit that you want him to try and explain its texture, flavour to the kid and ask whether he would like to give it a try
don't be pushy but be gently encouraging

You may need to present a new fruit 10 times or more before they'll accept it. Slice Fruit: Your kids may be more likely to want sliced fruit than whole fruit.
