Loose motion are most of the time infective where it is associated with fever and vomiting and its known as gastroenteritis where symptomatic treatmehiint along with management for dehydration is required if loose motions are associated with foul smell mucous high grgade fever than it could be bacterial infection which needs antibiotics treatment

I suggest you please consult with your pediatrician about it because physical examination is important for proper diagnosis and treatment
