Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy4 years agoA. ideally it is advisable to start complementary feeding only after completion of 6 months of age but if you have started you can continue to give it and kindly go through various articles on firstcry regarding complementary feeding
In COMPLEMENTARY FEEDING start with two rules
Rule number 1 is that you have to give the food in the form which the child can swallow
Rule number 2 is that always give a new food for for 5 to 6 days to see whether the child is able to digest that food or not as well as it will help in creating the taste in the child.
you can gradually start all types of food made from cereals pulses vegetable milk and fruits. You have to start initially with less amount and gradually you can increase the amount
shreya goelMom of a 7 yr 4 m old boy4 years agoA. Hello mom
You should not start giving solids and water till your baby turned six months old. Till six months baby should be totally on mother’s milk. If you want then you can start giving just 2 to 3 spoons of water in a day that is enough rather than this start giving solids only after baby turned six months old
Happy parenting
