Q.

#asktheexperts my daughter is 4months old. she is suffering from cold and cough. how many times I can use nasal drop ? and also what should be the time gap for using nasal drops.?!

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the doskse can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

A. Give nasal saline drops every few hourly to the child in the nasal cavity. Try to prevent temperature variationsc around the child You can go for indirect steam inhalation which will again help in decreasing both cough and cold Continuec the regular diet of the child If there is no improvement in few days then meet your doctor For fever and pain give paracetamol
