It may be habit to pulling ear..
Ear wax, ear infection, may be reason for it ..high fever, start to wake up from sleep, excessive crying in that case kindly do Consult ENT specialist.

it might happen because of tingling sensation because of cold or teething.
so please check for this.
gently rub your pointer finger on sore gums of your child .
it will help to soothe the itching.
