Weight gain in a child is a good indicator for proper health of the child and there should be a regular weight gain as per the age of the child. if there is not a proper weight gain it can be because of many factors and three most important causes are
Baby not taking enough calories
Baby is not vabsorbing the enough calories which the baby is taking
Baby is burning too many calories .
So a proper assessment is very important to know the cause regvarding this .

if your baby is active and playful then no need to worry about weight much.
give all that you cook for ur family.
include egg, ghee, dry fruits, dairy products like paneer curd cheese, banana shake, potatoes,,rice etc in ur baby diet for weight gain
