A. At 1 year and 7 months, a weight of 8.5 kg is slightly below the average, but if your baby is active, playful, and meeting milestones, it's usually not a major concern. Some children are naturally lean due to genetics or high activity levels. Focus on offering nutrient-rich foods like ghee-added khichdi, dal-rice, curd, paneer, boiled eggs, fruits like banana and mango, dry fruits paste, and full-fat milk. Give small frequent meals and snacks rather than forcing large portions. Track her growth regularly, and if she continues to grow steadily and remains active, it’s likely she’s healthy. You can consult your pediatrician to rule out any nutritional deficiencies if concerned.
