Q.

#asktheexperts my baby is 2 months 19 days old and he is having running nose and also mucus coming out of nose, and some kharash in his throat which tends to noisy breathing. Plz advice.

A. Cold is most of the time because of some viral infection or allergic condition and symptoms are usually sneezing, running nose, nasal congestion and fever. cough along with throat irritation are usually associated . Treatment consists of antiallergic antipyretics analgesics and decongestants medicine . As a home remedy steam inhalation would be very useful . Medicines like wikoryl / tminic / Alex cold can be used in a proper dose for 3-5 days as perf the symptoms . Steam inhalagftion is repeated frequently .

A. hi baby is too young, better to visit your pediatrician for once. please give plenty of breastfeeds. keep your child head slightly elevated while feeding and sleeping ,so a child can breathe well you can use Nasal saline drops. give Sunbath for 20 minutes a day apply warm paste of Turmeric powder and water on chest and back of your child.
