#asktheexperts my baby boy is not at all eating solid food for 1 week and he has cold for 1 week. Before that he eat properly but now he is not interested in food he ia rejecting at 1st spoon itself. i dont know why

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed.d
if any fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature anvd the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .

keep a bowl of chopped onion near her bed approx three feet far over night
keep her hydrated by giving her a spoon of lukewarm water having TDS higher than 350 , Every couple of hours
