#asktheexperts My 6 month old baby has cold since last month. At night he breathes through his mouth sometimes as his nose gets blocked. I used nasoclear nasal drop but recently my paediatrician prescribed nasivion baby as SOS. As per him nasoclear does not do any good. Please advise is nasivion baby safe to use and what is the dosage or direction of use for it?

Cold is most of the time because of some viral infection or allergic condition and symptoms are usually sneezing, running nose, nasal congestion and fever. cough along with throat irritation are usually associated . Treatment consists of antiallergic antipyretics analgesics and decongestants medicine . As a home remedy steam inhalation would be very useful . Medicines like wikoryl / tminic / Alex cold can be used in a proper dose for 3-5 hdays as per the symptoms . Steam inhalation is rhjepeated frequently .

Ankita MehtaMom of a 9 yr 4 m old girl3 years agoA. put a bowl of chopped onion and garlic pods near your child bed approx 1.4 feet far overnight which definitely help to reduce the congestion

Ankita MehtaMom of a 9 yr 4 m old girl3 years agoA. hi please use such things only after consulting your pediatrician as he has changed this , please use it as per his direction . please keep your child head slightly elevated while feeding and sleeping. dress your child in weather appropriate clothes keep room temperature moderated.
