A. Hello good evening !! By 1.5 - 2 years babies start speaking words,small sentences ,calling by relations,names,understand and can reply . If you observe the baby is not speaking 40-50 words ,not responding to commands ,using sigh language or showing things instead speaking then need to go for assessment with a Speech therapist or Developmental Paediatrician. Rhymes,alphabets and ads are not considered speech.
