#asktheexperts Is 6.5 kg weight normal for a two and a half month old baby boy?

A. Namaste Father, Thats quite high for this age though , it would be good if you could check it as per his birth weight which is expected to increase monthly in the range of 300 gm to 1 kg & by age of 4 to 6 months they double their birth weight. Get his thyroid test done,

Q. Hi doctor, My daughter is 3 and a half months old. Her birth weight is 2.78 kg At one and a half months, her weight was 3.6 kg At two and a half months, her weight was 4.2 kg At 3 and a half months, her weight is 4.4 - only 200 gms has been increased in a month. Is it normal? Her urine outcome is more than 6 times a day and poops once in 5-6 days in average. For first 2 months, I was mixed feeding her. During 3rd month, I exclusively breastfed her but there is very little weight gain. I'm afraid whether I have low milk supply. Also I'm using nipple shield to feed her. Is that a reason for less weight gain?
