A. If a baby starts vomiting in sleep, gently turn them onto their side to prevent choking. This position helps the vomit drain out of the mouth instead of going back into the airway. After the vomiting stops, you can hold the baby upright for a while to help them settle and prevent further vomiting. Never leave a vomiting baby flat on their back, as it increases the risk of choking. If vomiting continues or is accompanied by fever, lethargy, or signs of dehydration, consult a pediatrician promptly.
