POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy6 months agoA. How to Prevent Diaper Rash in Babies
Diaper rash is common, but you can prevent it by following these simple steps:
1. Change Diapers Frequently Keep your baby’s skin dry by changing the diaper every 2-3 hours or immediately after it gets wet or soiled. 2. Use a Barrier Cream Apply a diaper rash cream with zinc oxide or petroleum jelly to create a protective layer between the skin and moisture. 3. Keep the Area Clean & Dry Wash your baby’s bottom with lukewarm water and pat dry (avoid rubbing). Let the baby’s skin air dry before putting on a new diaper. 4. Avoid Tight Diapers Use a loose-fitting diaper to allow air circulation and reduce friction. 5. Choose the Right Diaper Use breathable, soft, and fragrance-free diapers. If rashes are frequent, try switching brands or using cloth diapers. 6. Give Diaper-Free Time Let your baby stay without a diaper for some time during the day to keep the skin dry. 7. Use Mild Products Avoid baby wipes with alcohol or fragrance. Instead, use soft cotton and warm water. Use a gentle, fragrance-free soap when bathing your baby.
If the rash doesn’t improve within 2-3 days or worsens (blisters, redness, or fever), consult a pediatrician. Let me know if you need diaper rash cream recommendations!
