Loose motion are most of the time infective where it is associated with fever and vomitinrg and its known as gastroenteritis where symptomatic treatment along with managementt for dehydration is required if loose motions are associated with foul smell mucous high grade fever than it could be bacterial infection which needs antibiotics treatment

U May consult your paediatrician the right medicine can be suggested by your only four months of age also they will tell you why this may be happening I am and what is the solution for that it’s important for you to get a check with your doctor ones for sure
