A. From birth to age 6 months, a baby gains about 140 to 200 grams a week. A baby doubles his or her birth weight by about age 5 months. Always feed the baby on demand and make sure that while feeding, the baby empties one breast first before moving on the next breast as the milk that comes towards the end, hind milk is rich in fat and helps in healthy weight gain of the baby.
