#asktheexperts Hi, my daughter is 3 years old now. she sucks her thumb during her sleep subconsciously. please guide me how can we prevent her from this habit.

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 5 yr 11 m old girl4 years agoA. babies 3 years old it is a normal habit for thumb sucking and it will go away on its own if you try and punish the baby or try and remove then baby will become more adamant and this will continue

Hello ma’am Whenever you put your child to sleep just apply something really bitter onto the thumb so even if your child takes it into the mouth and consciously your child will actually take it out because of the bitter taste try to do this for a week to 10 days I’m sure it will help you
