Q.

#asktheexperts hi! my baby just received 10 weeks pentavalent vaccine. but the nurse has administered the vaccine in lower third of the anterolateral aspect of thigh. does it affect the vaccine efficacy!? and I also want to know whether paracetamol can be give prophylactically for pain and fever? does it affect immunogenicity of vaccine?

A. Hello, your baby girl is 2 months old and she has received pentavac injection at government hospitals and given little bit lower part actually right site is a L of mid thigh.paracetamol can be given as prophylaxis of pain and fever and it doesn’t affect it efficacy

A. Hi parent if you're child is happy and healthy and active and take proper sleep and food then no need to worry about this matter please apply cool pack on affected area twice a day if you have more confusion please consult with your pediatrician
