Q.

#asktheexperts Hi! My 4 month old boy has always been on mother’s milk, 99% of the time breastfeeding and very rarely bottle fed breast milk. Since last week he isn’t feeding properly and yesterday he barely spent any time on the breast. Every time the mother tries to feed, he keeps on looking around or starts smiling and giggling at the mother and unlatches from the breast. He has also developed a habit of sucking on his thumb since couple of weeks. Sometimes he leaves the breast nipple and sticks his thumb in the mouth and falls asleep. What should we do we are very concerned? Thank you

A. Hello! Check if your baby is teething. Gently press your child’s gums with a soft cotton cloth dipped in cold water to reduce teething symptoms. Maybe you can try using Babyhug teethers for your baby
