For healthy growth and development, it is important to feed all types of nutritious foods to the baby including protein, calcium, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, iron and carbohydrates. Try to give fresh, home cooked meals and restrict intake of sugar, fried and packaged foods. Include fresh, seasonal fruits in different forms like fresh juices, oats, custard, smoothies and whole. Keep him well hydrated with variety of fluids like water, buttermilk and coconut water. Feed eggs, chicken, fish, ghee, legumes, rice, chapati, stuffed parantha, besan and beetroot cheela, idli dish with sambhar, etc.
