Q.

#asktheexperts Hi Doctor My baby is 3 month and 10 days old and weighs about 4.8 kgs. Her birth weight was 2.96 kgs. She is exclusively breastfeeding. Should I be concerned about her weight and start formula feeding or continues with breastfeeding. She feeds around 7 times a day and has adequate urine (9-10 times) and stool

A. Hi The child has gained about 600 g every month which is decent enough because the doctor says the minimum gain should be somewhere around 400 g for 500 g so I look at the way that your child was born with your child has gained 800 1800 g that’s very good no need to start with formula feeding
