A. A hemoglobin level of 9 g/dL is considered low (the normal range is typically 12–16 g/dL for women and 14–18 g/dL for men). This level usually indicates anemia, often caused by a deficiency in iron, folate, or vitamin B12. 1. Increase Iron Intake The most common cause of low hemoglobin is iron deficiency. Animal Sources (Heme Iron): More easily absorbed. Include red meat (beef, lamb), poultry, fish, and organ meats like liver. Plant Sources (Non-Heme Iron): Leafy greens (spinpeas), beans, and fortified cereals. 2. Maximize Absorption with Vitamin C Your body absorbs iron much better when paired with Vitamin C. Drink a glass of orange juice or add lemon juice to your meals.

A. Hello! Include seasonal fruits and vegetables, green leafy vegetables in the child’s daily diet. Sometimes this might work only with supplementation as well. Better to check with the consulting paediatrician to guide you further.
