#asktheexperts hello sir my baby has born in 36 weeks.... when ever she breaths she gets some sound gur gur gur.... doctor told it will go by 6 months

A. It’s common for babies born at 36 weeks (late preterm) to have some noisy breathing like the "gur gur gur" sound you mentioned. This happens because their lungs and airways are still developing and may have extra mucus or be a bit narrow. Usually, as your baby grows and her lungs mature, these sounds improve and often disappear by around 6 months, just as your doctor said. Keep monitoring her breathing—if she has fast breathing, chest retractions, or looks very uncomfortable, contact your pediatrician immediately. Otherwise, gentle care and regular check-ups will help her lungs develop well over time.
