Q.

#asktheexperts Good morning doctor My son turned 1 month yesterday. From last 4-5 days he has been feeding for very little time and has been sleeping for 2-3 hours or sometimes even longer. From today morning he is feeding only one side and sleeping for 2+ hours. If I forcefully wake him up for feed he doesn’t feed at all and keeps crying. I’m worried if he is getting dehydrated and also I am worried about his weight gain. He used to pass urine 2-3 times and one poop in between the feeds but from 2-3 days he is hardly passing any urine. His birth weight is 3 kg and his present weight is around 3.4 kg(home checked weight) Please help me with this

A. Crying of a Baby is mostly because of infantile colic and gas related discomfort which is there commonly in night . It can be relieved by medicine like colicaid or gastica drops containing dil oil and feniel oil with semethicone. other reasons coulgfd be hunger any illness, nafsal blockage, ear pain, diaper rash and sometimes more conditions which needs to be ruled out and managed accordingly .
