POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due in 1 month2 months agoA. If your baby has had a cough for the last two days without cold or fever, it could be due to mild throat irritation, dry air, or post-feeding reflux (especially in babies under 1 year). Sometimes, babies cough to clear their throat or when milk goes down the wrong way slightly.
Here’s what you can do:
Keep the baby well hydrated with breast milk or formula. Use a humidifier in the room to ease dryness in the throat. Hold your baby upright after feeds to reduce reflux. Avoid exposure to dust, strong smells, or smoke.
If the cough continues beyond 3–4 days, worsens, affects feeding or sleep, or if you hear wheezing or fast breathing, it's best to consult a pediatrician. While mild coughs are common, it's important to watch for signs of infection or allergies.
