#asktheexperts cat had hurt my son by scratching on leg and last month he got his vaccinations of 5 years shoul i get infection injection for him

Author of questionFather of 2 children2 years agoA. Cat had scratch him 2-3places on his leg so im asking that should i get him tetanus injection and he had been vaccinated last month for completing his 5 years

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Post vaccination swelling may be a common thing specially after DPT vaccine which may be painful for two or three days and the swelling may remain even up to month so if it is not causing any pain or other symptoms nothing to worry.
Swellinfg can be reduced by giving ice fomentation locally and paracetamol can be given for fever or pain.
Thrombophobe ointment can be applied in acute pain andc swelling .
